Behaviour & Safety
At Girnhill Infant School we have a range of Whole School behaviour strategies to promote positive behaviour:
At Girnhill we all follow our school rules. These are called 'the 3 L's.
Look after ourselves.
Look after each other.
Look after this place.
Marbles in a Jar
Each class has their own jar of marbles. Children can get marbles added to their jar for doing something positive together as a team. At the end of each half term the class with the most marbles in the jar will receive a special reward that they have chosen.
Each class has a weather behaviour chart to encourage the children to make positive behaviour choices to reach the top of the chart - 'the pot of gold'.
We have a golden broom award that is given to the tidiest classroom each week. The award is scored on a range of factors and it encourages the children to be more proactive in looking after their classrooms.
Have you filled a bucket today?
We believe every child and adult has their own imaginary bucket. We can all fill our own and each others buckets by being kind, thoughtful, respectful, tolerant and following rules.
