The School Council is composed of 3 representatives from each class in school – Badgers, Owls, Rabbits and Foxes. Mrs Taylor attends the meetings and supports the School Council.
During September children discuss the necessary skills required to be a successful school council member and children choose to put themselves forward for the role. Each child in the class then has one vote for the councillors to represent their class. At the first official meeting a Chair, Vice Chair and a Secretary are elected.
The school council meets regularly and considers many aspects of school life. In recent times they have been involved in planting around school to improve the environment, contributed to decisions around fundraising and even interviewed new staff members! They also regularly discuss school issues and factors affecting teaching and learning and share information through presentations in assemblies.
